INTRODUCTION:
Many times we misplace our keys or valuable belongings and go searching for them everywhere in the house, and after a long search, we end up finding them with much distress. Now, the obvious solution here is to identify the misplaced keys or any valuable belongings using IOT based proposed system.
SIMPLE STEPS FOR WORKING :
The ESP8266 and the phone is connected through wifi hotspot.When the device is turned ON , an IP address will be generated through which the phone and the device will be connected.
AIM AND REQUIREMENTS:
The aim of this project is to develop an intelligent IoT-based Smart Key finder using ESP8266 Node micro controller unit , Buzzer, Battery, voltage regulator, and capacitor.
CONNECTIONS:
The complete setup will be powered by the Lithium polymer Battery and AMS117-3.3V is used to regulate 3.3V for the ESP8266-01 board. VCC and CH_PD pins of ESP8266-01 are connected to the output pin of AMS1117 while we connect the GND pin to the –ve rail of the battery. The positive terminal of Buzzer is connected to the GPIO2 pin of ESP8266 while the negative terminal of the buzzer is connected to the GND of ESP8266.
WORKING :
Under any circumstances if the key is misplaced and if we are searching for keys it leads to wastage of time and cause mental stress . To provide a solution for this issue a smart key finder has been proposed in this project . A smart key finder is attached to the keychain which helps to track the key .So whenever we can’t find our keys , we have to open Chrome and open your Keychain Webpage in our mobile phone. The ESP8266 and the phone is connected through wifi hotspot.When the device is turned ON , an IP address will be generated through which the phone and the device will be connected.Now by clicking the toggle button in smartkey chain webpage, within moments, we will hear a beep sound from the keychain and with this, we can easily track our keys.
APPLICATIONS:
This device is used not only to locate keys but also our valuable belongings like purse , jewellery box,and other important things . This device help the mankind to easily identify misplaced objects by emitting an alarm signal. This reduces our time in search of small object that we misplaced. This proposed system is also used to identify the vehicle among larger group of vehicles in public places like malls, theatre, railway stations, etc...

The components involved and the functions of individual components are discussed below:
AMS 1117 Voltage Regulator:
The AMS 1117 is SMD ( surface mount device) package. It is 3-pin voltage regulator which is avaiable in many models for fixed and adjustable voltage requirement. The IC can deliver a maximum current of IA and the expect output voltage can vary from 1.5V to 5V. It also has a low drop out voltage of 1.3V when operating at maximum current.
If it a fixed voltage regulator, just power the IC though the vin pin the regulated output can be obtained in the V out pin. The Adj / Ground pin in this case acts only as a ground pin and it is grounded. Also a capacitor can be added at the output Side to filter out the noise. The connection diagram is given below.
Lithium-ion & Battery :
Li-ion batteries have a high energy density, no memory effect and low self- discharge cells can be manufactured to either prioritze energy (or) power density. They can however be a Since they saftey hazard contain flammable electrolytes, and if damage (or) incorrectly charged can lead to explosion and fires.
